To my Family and Friends.....

may all your wishes and dreams come true in 2013. Has anybody made any New Year resolutions? I haven't as at this age I already know that I won't stick to them, of course the normal ones like losing some weight and using up all my stash come to mind, I guess I'll have to wait and see how that pans out :-).
Now that it is too hot to spend much time outside I hope to start the year off with a couple of quilts. First up I have my DGD's Quillow to finish, I have finally decided on a layout...I think....I hope...so I had best get the sewing machine revved up before I change my mind again.

Tomorrow while in town I hope to find a nice piece of fabric to use for the sashings, I was going to use white but perhaps a white background with tiny spots might look good?
I already have the  aqua border fabric that matches one of the charm squares in the quilt. Those blocks will need moving around a bit once I have them sewn together.
I also hope to get a bag sewn up for myself and with plans for a quilt well overdue for another family member I have plenty to keep me busy to start off the New Year. Hoping everyone is having a safe and fun time over the holidays.
Hugs,

Woo Hoo 'Remember Whoo Loves You' Baby Quilt

is finally in the post and on it's way to baby Max. Loved the whole process of this little quilt, the pattern is very well written and was easy to follow.

Woo Hoo getting there.

Made good progress today with my sister's belated 50th birthday quilt, (just a tad late as the event was back in 2011) now with all the blocks finally on my design wall I just have to play some more with the layout of them and then when happy with it all will be able to wizz them up ready to sew the border on.

Feeling pretty good

"Sew Easily Charmed"
this sunny Sunday afternoon.
Finally finished DD's and SIL's belated Christmas gift a "Sew Easily Charmed" quilt and it will be in the post and on it's way to Mt Isa tomorrow. "Hooray at last" I can hear my DD shouting, lol.
The quilt is a pattern designed by my friend Khris, love this pattern, great instructions and easy to S.I.D. After all my procrastinating about how to quilt it I was glad I had chosen to K.I.S.S.
Now I need to start on the wall hanging requested by DD, same pattern but a smaller version in matching "Freebird" Moda fabrics.
Also wanted to ask you that if you have a minute, pop on over to Khris's, Lucky and Dawn's blogs and check out how hard the girls have been working on quilts for victims of the floods. Lucky has also been making and collecting from other generous ladies lots of "Huggles" which are going to the HUGGLE FOR KIDS Flood Appeal  for the Grantham School.
What's a "Huggle" I hear you ask, check out Luckys blog to find out. Such a worthwhile cause for littlies children of Oz.

I should be

machine quilting the lap quilt that is a gift for my DD and her Hubby, but I got a little side tracked with finishing this scrappin page.

Now that it is done I will have to stop procrastinating and just go for it. You see I have this inkling to be a bit more adventurous and instead of just doing the Stitch in the Ditch version I would love to FMQ (free motion quilt for those who aren't quilters) it, but alas I lack confidence in that area of quilting and do not want to stuff it up, so I guess tomorrow instead of just walking past it as it sits on the table looking at me I best put my big girl panties on and just deal with it, or it will be next Christmas before DD gets to put it on her bed. :-).

A bit of this n that

Just popping up a couple pics of two scrappin pages of my Grandson that I finally finished and also it was his 1st birthday  last month (scoot over here to see him celebrating his big day)  I made him this play rug from a panel, thought it might come in handy when at the park or out visiting with Mum and Dad.
